  • Overview

    Based on the specific needs of the business unit, the Instructional Design Specialist completes instructional design for learning and development teams along with the creation, implementation, and measurement of training programs throughout all business units.

    Responsibilities

    • Works closely with the Manager of Instructional Design to identify learning needs through analysis of business unit.
    • Designs and develops written, instructor-led and online/web-based training content, which requires creating detailed storyboards, project management skills, narration scripts and deliverables.
    • Develops knowledge and performance-based learning checks, assessments, and other mechanisms/methods to verify and/or remediate the application of learning.
    • Leads informal video deliverables.
    • Collaborates with the curriculum team to apply changes, as well as plan, organize, conduct, adjust and complete projects on time and within resource allocations ensuring accurate and current content.
    • Conducts needs analysis, writes instructional objectives, recommends varied instructional models and creates learning solutions.
    • Collects and maintains learner data from multiple points (LMS/LXP, surveys, assessments, etc.) and aggregates into an easily accessible database (i.e. LRS) that securely stores and archives data.
    • Forecasts future development needs to meet business strategies and implements solutions aligned with collected leaner data.
    • Maintains and updates company-wide training records to assist with development of employees within assigned business unit.
    • Maintains SOPs regarding administration of Talent Development processes.
    • Assists with learning management system administration; publishes on-line titles to learning management systems and maintains a working knowledge of learning authoring tools and IT systems to facilitate course development.

    Qualifications

    Education: BS or BA in Graphic Design, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or related field

     

    Skills/Background:

    • Experience with LMS systems, authoring tools, graphical layout, digital audio, virtual learning, video, and gamification.
    • Proven experience in content development and instructional design.
    • Project management
    • Excellent interpersonal communication, written, verbal, and presentation skills
    • Required software: Microsoft Office Suite
    • Preferred software: Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Litmos (or other leading LMS), WordPress

    Minimum Years Experience: 3-5 years of instructional design experience
